There are many varieties of fasting. Anyone can fast, but it depends on the individual preferences and circumstances which method is best for you. Whichever fast you decide on, all of them can be optimized with Almased.*
It also keeps your metabolism and energy levels up and helps to retain muscle mass and avoid hunger. All of these are important to achieve the benefits of a fast without having to worry about negative side effects like fatigue or the dreaded yo-yo effect.
Below are three popular ways of fasting. We recommend the consecutive fast as your start to the Almased long-term diet and lifestyle program, but you can choose the one that fits your needs best.
Consecutive Fasting
For a 14-day fast, you replace each of your three daily meals with an Almased shake every 4-6 hours. In addition, you drink plenty of water, unsweetened tea, and homemade vegetable broth. You break the fast by slowly moving from liquids to a balanced diet. The 14-day consecutive fast is also the first phase of the Almased long-term diet plan. The good results you can expect to see during this fast will keep you motivated to continue on your journey to improved weight and wellness.
Intermittent Fasting (5:2)
During five days of the week, you can eat a regular balanced diet. During the other two days, you fast with Almased, 3 shakes a day, one every 4-6 hours as outlined above. This reduces the stress on the digestive system and teaches the body to use its fat deposits for energy. We recommend that you still have one Almased shake per day as part of your regular diet during the other five days. Just 50 g of Almased daily provide your body with the macro- and micronutrients it needs to function at an optimal level.

Alternating Fasting
You alternate between a fasting day and a day during which you consume a regular balanced diet. Again, we recommend that you add one Almased shake even on the days that you consume regular meals. Just like Almased optimizes any fast, it also optimizes your regular diet, whether you take it for weight loss, wellness, or both.
*We always recommend consulting your doctor to see if fasting is right for you.
