Yes, you can. There is no upper age limit for using Almased. Almased will provide your body with more energy and high-quality protein. It protects your muscle mass and provides a feeling of fullness for at least 4-5 hours.

Also, Almased supports healthy blood sugar levels and doesn’t contain any added sugars, preservatives or stimulants.

As we age, our bodies change, and so do our nutritional needs. As people get older, there is an increased risk of developing health conditions such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and other age-related issues. For those over 70, maintaining a healthy weight and lifestyle can present unique challenges. The good news is that Almased can offer important benefits for older adults, such as supporting muscle preservation, improving nutrition, and promoting metabolic health.

Introduction to Almased

Almased is a nutritional supplement specifically formulated to support healthy aging and weight management in older adults. As we age, our bodies naturally experience changes that can make it harder to maintain muscle mass and a balanced diet. Almased’s unique blend of high-quality protein, essential amino acids, vitamins, and minerals is designed to help older adults preserve lean body mass and combat age-related muscle loss. By providing the amino acids your body needs to build and repair muscle tissue, Almased supports overall health and well-being, making it easier to maintain a healthy weight and stay active. For many older adults, incorporating Almased into their daily diet can be a simple way to promote healthy aging and reduce the risk of health conditions associated with muscle loss and poor nutrition.

Overcoming Age-Related Challenges

One of the most common issues as we get older is a slow-down in metabolism. Maintaining a healthy body weight also becomes more challenging with age. This can make weight loss seem nearly impossible. However, Almased is designed to keep your metabolism active, making weight management achievable even in your 70s for most people. For inspiration, just look at success stories like Joan’s, a remarkable individual in her 70s who achieved life-changing results with Almased.

A Complete Nutritional Approach with Essential Amino Acids

Almased is more than just a weight-loss shake; it’s a source of complete nutrition that addresses the specific needs of older adults. Each serving of Almased delivers 24 grams of high-quality protein, which is crucial for preventing age-related muscle loss, a condition known as sarcopenia. A recent study highlights the importance of adequate protein intake for muscle preservation in older adults. Almased provides optimal protein intake, which helps preserve muscle mass, keeping you strong and active, preventing falls, and offering the benefit of supporting recovery and overall health.

Complete nutrition also plays a vital role in recovery. Whether you’re recovering from an illness or a surgical procedure, Almased provides the essential nutrients your body needs to heal faster and more effectively.

Not to mention, as we age, nutritional needs become more challenging. Dental issues or changes in saliva can make chewing and swallowing harder, and even when food is chewed well, the body isn’t as efficient at absorbing nutrients in later years. This can leave older adults vulnerable to nutritional gaps. Vitamin D is especially important for seniors, as it supports bone health and calcium absorption, and Almased helps meet this need as part of its complete nutritional profile. Almased helps fill those needs—offering a smooth, easy-to-digest shake that delivers complete nourishment well into your 70s and beyond.

Nutrition and Brain Health

Maintaining brain health is just as important as caring for your body, especially as you age. A well-balanced diet rich in essential nutrients can have a significant impact on mental health and help prevent cognitive decline in older adults. Foods high in omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, and fiber—such as leafy greens, berries, nuts, and fatty fish—support brain function and overall well-being. Staying hydrated is also crucial, as proper hydration ensures healthy blood flow to the brain and helps maintain focus and memory. In addition to a nutritious diet, regular exercise and staying socially engaged can further protect against age-related cognitive decline and depression. By prioritizing a well balanced diet and an active lifestyle, older adults can support both their mental health and overall well-being.

Mental Health Considerations

Mental health is a vital part of overall well-being, particularly for older adults. Many seniors experience challenges such as depression, anxiety, or cognitive decline, which can affect their quality of life. Adopting a healthy diet, engaging in regular exercise, and maintaining strong connections with family members and loved ones can make a significant difference. Encouraging seniors to stay active, eat nourishing foods, and schedule regular health checkups helps support mental health and resilience. If you or a loved one is facing mental health challenges, reaching out to healthcare professionals or support networks can provide valuable assistance and improve overall well-being. Remember, maintaining mental health is just as important as physical health for a fulfilling and vibrant life.

Supporting Your Body from the Inside Out

Almased’s unique formula supports several key aspects of your health, making it an excellent addition to your daily routine:

  • Cardiovascular Health: Studies have shown that Almased can support healthy blood pressure, cholesterol, and triglyceride levels, all of which are crucial for maintaining a healthy heart. Almased also supports heart health as part of a balanced diet.
  • Liver Function: Almased also provides support for healthy liver function by unclogging fat from liver. MRI scans from a 24-week (6-month) liver study showed that those who used Almased reduced liver fat by 56%.
  • Diabetic Friendly: As we age, the pancreas does not function as efficiently. Almased is low-glycemic, making it suitable for those managing diabetes. Replacing 2 high carb meals daily with Almased supports healthier blood sugar and helps maintain stable blood sugar levels.

Unlike some hormone supplements, Almased does not carry the risk of adverse effects associated with such interventions. Improved nutrition and metabolic health from Almased can also help manage chronic pain in older adults. Additionally, Almased's nutritional support may help address age-related health concerns such as age related macular degeneration.

Daily Living and Health

A healthy lifestyle is the foundation for independence and well-being in daily living, especially for older adults. Consuming a well-balanced diet ensures your body receives the nutrients needed to maintain muscle mass, support bone health, and prevent chronic diseases. Incorporating regular physical activity, such as resistance training or gentle exercises, can improve muscle function, boost energy levels, and reduce the risk of falls. Staying socially connected with loved ones and participating in community or senior center activities can also help ward off depression, anxiety, and cognitive decline. By focusing on a healthy diet, regular exercise, and meaningful social connections, older adults can enhance their quality of life and maintain independence in their senior years.

Healthy Eating Habits

Developing healthy eating habits is essential for older adults who want to maintain their health and well-being. Focus on including a variety of whole foods in your diet, such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein sources like fish, poultry, or skim milk. Limiting processed and sugary foods can help lower the risk of heart disease, diabetes, and other chronic conditions. Staying hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day supports healthy blood flow and overall body function. It’s also important to consider your individual calorie needs and aim for frequent, balanced meals to help manage your weight and energy levels. By making healthy eating a priority, older adults can support their overall health and enjoy a more active, fulfilling life.

Safety and Wellness Tips

For those in their 70s, medication safety is often a concern, especially when starting a new regimen. Almased is a natural product and is generally considered safe to use alongside multiple medications.

According to Registered Dietitian, Jamie Luu, RDN, LDN. Almased does not contain any stimulants. It does provides 22 vitamins and minerals, including 15 mcg Vitamin K, 500 mg potassium, and 300 mg sodium in each shake.

  • Vitamin K is important for blood clotting, but can be a concern for those on blood thinner medications. It’s important to keep Vitamin K intake the same as when you started on medications. Almased provides 13% daily value of Vitamin K (15 mcg) per shake.
  • Potassium is an electrolyte that ensures cellular function. Those on ACE inhibitors may have an increased level of potassium. Almased provides 11% daily value of potassium (500 mg) per shake. If you are on ACE inhibitors while on the Almased Diet, it is advised to avoid taking any additional potassium supplements.
  • Sodium is an electrolyte that supports nerve and muscle function. Seniors on a restricted diet can still use Almased as even at 3 shakes a day, The American Heart Association recommends less than 1,500 mg of sodium per day for those at a higher cardiovascular risk. Almased even consumed at 3x a day (900 mg total) provides less than the recommended daily amount of sodium.

We encourage seniors to adopt these wellness tips to stay healthy and make the most of their Almased journey.

As always, it’s important to check with your health care provider before starting any diet if you have any serious health concerns.

Additionally, here are some helpful wellness tips to ensure you get the most out of your Almased journey:

  • Stay Hydrated: Drink half of your weight in ounces or at least 64 oz of clear liquids daily, which can include water or veggie broth.
  • Support Bowel Regularity: Constipation is common with age due to weaker involuntary intestinal muscles, dehydration and reduced fiber intake. To support digestive health,  add 1 tablespoon of fiber (flaxseeds, psyllium husks or chia seeds) to each shake and take 250-500 mg of magnesium daily. Additionally, take regular short walks (it can be in a pool) to support abdominal muscles which helps with bowel regularity. As we age, the way the body processes food can change, making it important to choose easy-to-digest options like Almased.
  • Adjust for Appetite: Reduced appetite is common with age.   If you have a smaller appetite, you can still enjoy Almased by adding less liquid per shake (8-10 fl oz instead of 12) or splitting a single shake into 2 smaller servings. This even if a full shake feels too much, you can still fit Almased into your day - meeting your nutritional needs.
  • Address Leg Cramps: If you experience leg cramps, it’s often due to a potassium deficiency, which can be due to difficulty chewing, reduced appetite or a side effect of certain medications like diuretics and laxatives. To address this, consider adding half a banana or half a cup of spinach to your Almased shake, or take a daily potassium supplement.
  • Stay Connected: Staying connected with friends, family, and your community is vital for emotional and mental well-being. Social engagement can help reduce feelings of isolation and support overall health as you age.

Taking these steps can help encourage seniors to stay proactive and engaged in their health journey.
