About two years ago, I weighed 260 lbs at only 5’7”. I had put on a lot of weight over the years after my thyroid level had gotten out of control. I felt miserable. I have very active kids, but I could not keep up with them. My knees and my back would hurt, and I would be out of breath.
One day, I was flipping through a magazine and found an advertisement about Almased. I thought it might be something that could work, so I went to GNC, purchased Almased, returned home and got started right away. I was determined to lose weight.
I started with the fast for two weeks. I mixed Almased in a shaker cup with just water and nothing else. I did not want to add any extra calories. The texture at first tasted like pancake batter, but it did not matter to me because at that point I told my mom that if someone told me to drink mud to lose weight, I would, so Almased tasted lot better than what I imagined for myself. I tried Slim Fast in the past, and it tasted good, but it did not work at all - at least not for me.
During the fast, I admit, I was hungry at times. To get rid of the hunger feeling, I would only nibble here and there, but only on healthy foods. I would also drink a lot of water, broth, and tea to help curve my hunger. At the same time, I completely got rid of pop. I was addicted to drinking Mountain Dew, and I quit drinking it.
After two weeks, I would drink Almased twice a day and continued to mix Almased with water only. Soon enough, my weight started to drop, and I had lost 50 lbs. Weighing 210 lbs, I felt fantastic. So I weaned off of Almased and stabilized my weight by eating regular healthy food and no junk food and being more active. I would walk and run a 5K daily, with intervals of 3-minute walking and 45-second running for six months.
In August, I restarted the Almased Diet and in a span of four months, I went from 210 lbs to 168 lbs (-42lbs). In total, I lost 92 lbs in about two years. It is as if I dropped a person. My back and my knees do not hurt as bad anymore. I used to have to test my blood sugars every day, but now my numbers are stable, and I do not need to check it as often. I am no longer on any medications because of the diet and lifestyle changes I have made.
I feel very energetic now. My children love the difference they see on me. I can now run and walk with them. I was so happy to be able to help my kids learn to ride a bike with no training wheels, by being able to run alongside them. My mom says I look great and so do my friends. I am proud of myself. I was able to do all of this thanks to Almased.
Today,I am still using Almased along with eating a healthy dinner. Since I’m so close to my original goal of 165 lbs, I set a new goal of 145 lbs and and to be able to run a 5K consistently.
