| Almased Workbook for Weight Loss Step 1: Determine your Ideal Body Weight To determine your ideal body weight, follow these formulas: Men: Ideal Body Weight (in pounds) = 110 lbs. + 5 lbs. per inch over 5 feet Women: Ideal Body Weight (in pounds) = 108 lbs. + 3.7 lbs. for each inch over 5 feet Record this number at the top of the Weight Loss Progress Report at the end of this section. Step 2: Determine Current and Target BMI (Body Mass Index)
Legend:
Less than 19: Underweight - YELLOW 19 - 25: Healthy Weight - LIGHT BLUE 26 - 30: Overweight - GREEN 31 or greater: Obese - ORANGE You can also determine your BMI by using the following formula. 1.Divide your weight (in pounds) by your height (in inches) squared. 2.Multiply the results of Step 1 by 705. For example, if you weigh 138 pounds and you’re 5’3'’ (63 inches) tall, the equation looks like this: BMI=(138/(63x63)) x705=24.5. Record this number along with the date and your starting weight on the first line of the Weight Loss Progress Report at the end of this section. Step 3: Determine your Body Fat Percentage Rating Once you have your body fat percentage you can see how it rates on the table provided below. Record this number on the first line of the Weight Loss Progress Report at the end of this section.
Step 4: How to Measure Almased for Weight Reduction Now that you have calculated your ideal weight, your BMI and your body fat rating you can know determine how much Almased you will take per meal and per day. The amount of Almased you need each day is calculated by taking your target weight (your ideal weight based on the chart on the next page) and dividing it by the number 5. Fill in the space below with your target weight and divide by the numbers indicated. The first calculation determines the amount of Almased needed per day and the second calculation is the amount of Almased for each meal. The chart on the next page will determine these calculations for you if your target weight is represented.
For example: for a target weight of 150 lbs, the following calculation
would be correct: One teaspoon equals approximately 5g of Almased, which is approximately 130 kcal, or 1 BE for diabetes sufferers. The calculated amount of teaspoons is dissolved in 8 ounces of water per meal or to taste. |
