Hello biogirl13, Fast weight loss is not necessarily the healthy way to lose weight where you are able to keep the lost pounds off. How much weight are you planning on losing? Weight loss varies from person to person, so it is hard to say when and what results you will see. It depends on so many different factors, like how much weight you have to lose, how well you stick to the diet, what meds you are on etc. Usually, my customers see weight loss results within the first few days, not only on the scale but also around their stomach and hip area. I recommend starting out with the fasting phase (Almased 3x per day along with veggie broth and other liquids). You can do this for up to 14 days. After the 1st phase, you incorporate 1 regular meal into your diet and have Almased twice per day. You can stay on this phase until you reach your ideal body weight. I also encourage you to read our different Figure Plan brochures for more detailed information on the diet and recipe ideas: http://www.almased.com/nutrition-and-diet.aspx Almased fills you up, so you won't feel hungry. If you do so, you can have another 1/2 shake of Almased as a snack or before or after your workout. Silke

Hello biogirl13, You can start out with the liquid diet phase and see how you feel on it. If you can do the 14 days that's great but if you only stay on it for 5 days or less that's fine too. In any case, you should then have 2 Almased shakes and eat 1 regular meal until you reach your ideal body weight. Keep in mind that you will be on a very low calorie diet during the fast and adjust your workout schedule accordingly, especially at the beginning of the diet. Silke

So I started today and I always just drink water anyway, and usually my urine is clear. I started almased this AM and it is very yellow. Is this normal? Also, I am running 8 miles tomorrow, should I just have extra shake?

Just starting myself and wondering if I can use grapeseed oil. As it happens I have some. I also have flaxseed oil but just wondering if grapeseed is an alternative. Very excited to try this program. Wish me luck, I'll keep you posted.

This is mainly due to the B vitamins that your body excretes from the urine if it has plenty of them. It is the same principle as taking a multivitamin where you might have experienced the same effect. So, no worries. You can take an additional 1/2 shake of Almased before and/or after your workout. Hello lori7b7, You may use grapeseed oil, however, flaxseed oil is the best option since it has the best ration of omega 3 to omega 6 fatty acids. Let us know how you are doing. Silke
