Can I use ground flaxseed in the shake instead of flaxseed oil? I couldn't find the oil at my grocery store but was able to find the ground flaxseed. I probably should have asked before I bought it!!!
Hi Kikitiki,
Guess what, I found a post that has our answer! It was not easy to find since 'flaxseed' was not in the subject line.
Here it is:
Hi Nikkiwilltry, Welcome to the Almased family. It is great to have you join us. We recommend drinking veggie broth during diet because it is low in calories and will give you the same antioxidant as vegetables. During the fasting, we recommend drinking only liquids to help your body detox and reset the metabolism. As you transition into the second phase, the reduction phase, you may choose to snack on raw veggies along with drinking up to 4 cups of veggie broth on the side. Have you tried spicing up the broth and adding a few herbs to make it taste better for you? How many tablespoons of Almased are you using and what are you mixing in Almased? If you are still feeling hungry after each shake, I recommend adding 1-2 tablespoons of ground flaxseeds to each shake and to continue adding the oil, 2-3 tablespoons daily to help curb hunger. You may also snack on raw veggies, a handful of nuts, low fat cheese and whole grain crackers or even have another 1/2 a shake of Almased during the second phase. Over the course of the diet, we recommend to avoid fruits as fruits can interfere with weight loss due to the amount of sugar in them. If you can forego snacking in between meals, especially mid-morning snaking, that would give you the best results. Of course, if you need to snack it would be better to help prevent yourself from overeating during the next meal. I hope this information helps. Let me know if there is anything else.
I find I benefit from reading the posts, even the old ones. To peruse a few posts daily keeps up my motivation. Oh, day 7 and I have lost almost 2 inches. I am very surprised!
Usually moderators and those supporting us on forums like these are doing it out of the goodness of their hearts and not paid per post. They have to support themselves and care for their own activitities, so sometimes a reply doesn't come right away. Also, sometimes the answer is somewhere else in the diet plan or forum.
I hope you are doing well, that this helps, and I wish you the best!
