Great results

Today is the end of day 6 on the Almased fasting plan. Things are going great! I weighed myself this morning and could not believe me eyes...I had dropped 6 pounds. I measured myself and was even more excited. Too many inches to count, including 1" off my bust, 2" off my waist, and 1" off my upper thigh. It has been rough at times. Day 4 and 5 were awful. I was so hungry, but I drank more broth or water and it got me through. My goal originally was to do the fast for one week and then start having lunch along with my two shakes. But since I've done so well, I think I will take it one day at a time after Tuesday. Each day I can go past one week towards two weeks will be amazing. It has been so encouraging to read everyone's post on Almased.com.

Hi Rkg, I am very happy to hear how great you've been doing on our program. You are amazing! Keep up the good work. One thing I wanted to mention is that if you are ever feeling hungry during the fast, drinking vegetable broth and adding the oil to your diet will help curb appetite. Nevertheless, adding flaxseeds to each shake will as well. If none of those work, it may be necessary to incorporate another half a shake of Almased to your diet. We want you to avoid feeling hungry during the program especially if you are going to be fasting for up to two weeks, so that your muscles can stay protected, very necessary to help keep your metabolism at par. Best of luck on the rest of the journey. Keep posting! We would love to continue to hear from you. - Jamie

Thanks Jamie, I add the olive oil to the broth. It definitely does fill me up. I'm on day 9 know. Day 8 was really hard because I had to finish cleaning out my classroom for the end of the school year. It was a bit too much activity I think, plus it was very hot (about 102 in P****nix, Arizona). Today is much better! My mom used Almased many times in the late 90s and she has been a huge encouragement. Day 14 is getting closer and closer. My plan is to lose 20 more pounds. Once off the fast I will drop down to doing shakes for breakfast and dinner with incorporating a sensible lunch until I reach my goal. What should I plan on eating the day after I break the fast. I have seen suggestions of oatmeal and Greek yogurt on the website. When should I plan on eating a chicken/fish and veggies?

Hey rkg, When you enter into the reduction phase wherein you'll have being 2 shakes a day and 1 sensible meal, for that 1 sensible meal, it should be within 300 - 500 calories. Within that meal you can have whole grains, lean protein like fish, chicken, turkey, tofu, and plenty of veggies. There really is not a lot too it, the main thing to keep in mind is to control your portions and any additional sodium. If you eat out choose meals that are also within that calorie range and menu items that are lower in sodium and grease. During the reduction phase, if you can forgo snacking that will continue to give you the best results. If you absolutely need to snack a few options besides oatmeal and greek yogurt are almonds, hard-boiled egg only a few times per week, low-fat cheese and whole grain crackers, and raw veggies. You might even consider chewing on gum or drinking water first before you decide to snack since sometimes the body mistakes hunger for thirst. - Jamie

Update: Today is day 10 of the 14 day fast. I'm still only down 6 pounds, but the inches are falling off. I have lost a total of 15 1/2 inches in 10 days! I'm so happy and motivated to keep going to day 14.
