texture? Monday, May 21, 2012 8:24 AM (permalink)
Okay so I have a problem with the texture of almased...I don't mind the taste so much, its just how gritty it is whenever I drink it, I have a really hard time swallowing it down whenever I make it...does anyone have any suggestions to help fix it?  Please and thank you!!!

    Hi Eran123,

How do you mix Almased and what do you use to mix in with Almased?

Mixing Almased in a blender or blender bottle could help with the grittiness. Also, mixing Almased with low-fat, skim, soy, or almond milk could help create a creamier texture.

I am only two days in and also find the texture to be a problem. I use a blender and don't find that helpful. This morning I added ice and that seemed to help somewhat. I think that making it ice cold (as opposed to just using cold water) make it feel a little less gritty.

        Hi everyone.

As a suggestion, make sure you are using 10 - 12 ounces.  If you are only using 10oz, maybe try 12oz.  or vice versa...The additional or reduced liquid may help to thin or thicken the texture.
        Best of success to you!!!

I found today that if I don't add cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice to it, it is dramatically less gritty! Today I just added the olive oil and two teaspoons of vanilla to 10 ounces of water and two ice cubes and could'-not believe the difference!  I think this will be my stand-by from now on!

If I shake the heck out of it in a blender bottle it seems to be less gritty than even a blender.  I make sure my liquid is VERY cold, then add ice after.  I also like it best mixed with iced coffee.
