Liking Almsed so far, but need a few hints. Tuesday, April 24, 2012 8:35 AM (permalink)
I have started Almesed three days ago and feel like I am losing weight in my belly. (Yeah) I just have a few question regarding this. I have been mixing my shake with frozen stawberries and a half a banna for taste. (Otherwise I gag trying to get it down). I haven't been adding oil to it at all. If I just mix this with the oil and water is it easier to get down then? I am thinking of just mixing with 1/2 a banna at first and then going to plain water and oil. My husband says mixing this with fruit really compromises the shake. Is this true? Will I not lose as much weight because of the fruit? Also I am only mixing 4 tablespoons of powder as I am short in stature and drinkiing two shakes a day. During the middle of the day I find myself very hungry. The broth helps, but can I have something else like activia yogurt?

Thanks

    Hi Crimson_Kat,

Thanks for posting! It's great to hear that you are losing belly fat.

Your husband does have the right idea. Typically, we recommend to avoid fruits during a diet as it may interfere with weight loss. Fruits, although contains natural sugars can still impact blood sugar levels and as a result hinder weight loss. For now during the weight loss program, try to do without the fruit and instead mix with crystal light, 1/4 sugar free juice and 3/4 water, milk or any milk substitutes like soy, almond, or rice milk. You can also flavor the drink as you like such as with cinnamon spice, vanilla or almond extract.

You told us that you are only using 4 tablespoons of Almased. Even at your height, we still recommend to have at least 6 tablespoons of Almased with each shake, so that you are getting the appropriate amount of protein and carbs in a meal replacement program. Yes, you can have activia or yogurt, in fact low-fat greek yogurt is a great snack choice.
Hope this helps and let me know if you still have questions.
