Reduction Phase Tuesday, August 30, 2011 10:26 AM (permalink)
Hey, I am new to the forum but have one question. I started Almased 8 days ago. I did 3 shakes a day for 4 days. Since then I am having the shakes twice a day and one light meal. I lost 5 pounds in 7 days which I was very happy about. My question is for how long I can do the Reduction Phase without risking my health since I am not supposed to eat fruit in between. I would like to do it long enough to loose at least 15 more pounds ( I am 141 pounds now ) but I am not sure if it is good for me. Please help !!! Thanks.

    Hello anele67,

Welcome to the Almased forum and congratulations on your weight loss success thus far!

You can stay on the Reduction Phase until you reach your ideal body weight which can vary from several weeks to even months. We do recommend limiting fruit consumption until you are starting to lose weight. Especially people with diabetes need to watch their sugars and therefore have a better weight loss success when limiting their fruit intake. However, if you do reduce your fruit intake, you should increase the amounts of vegetables you eat so that you get all your nutrients that you may be missing from fruit. Therefore, you are still getting everything you need. If you have started to lose weight and don't have diabetes, you can incorporate fruit back into your diet and see how your weight loss process is coming along. If it slows down again, you may want to cut down on fruit and eat more veggies.
This really depends on each individual. Some of my customers can eat lots of fruit and still lose weight and then others need to limit their fruit intake. Fruit is healthy, no question but the sugar amount may make it harder for some people to lose weight and may need to cut down on it and eat more veggies instead.
If you follow these guidelines, you are definitely staying on the right track and eating a healthy diet.

    I hope this makes sense.
