The meal you had sounded fine. And kudos to you for not eating any chips at the restaurant!

Your chicken dish with quinoa sounds delicious! The meat portion should be about 3-4 oz and about 1/2 cup of whole grains (like quinoa). You can eat as many veggies as you like (except the starchy ones, like corn or potatoes). Flavoring your dishes can make a big difference, I agree. There are so many more flavors out there besides salt! I usually use dried herbs in the winter, e.g. thyme, basil, oregano...And garlic and pepper are a given in my dishes
Anything homemade tastes so much better and is healthier too since you know what you are putting in it.
Portion control is very important, you are right.

Keep us posted on how you are doing.

Silke
Re:Good morning (CRamze)

Awesome..glad you are doing better. Look forward to hearing Silke's opinion of what I ate last night and will tonight. We just have to stay motivated to keep it up. Honestly, I don't crave anything. While cooking for my husband, I've had a taste here and there but just keep it to a tiny taste. The hardest was saying no to the chips at the mexican restaurant. I've gotten through the last two weeks. I'm afraid if I have one, I will have more. After I get to my goal weight, I will probably buy the uncooked tortillias and cut them into four pieces and crisp in the oven after spraying just a little olive oil on them. Homeade salsa should be too bad for you ....tomatoes are sweet though, but better than store bought salsa. We just have to find healthy substitutions and keep our quanity where it should be. Good luck !!

Re:Good morning (MyShella)

 Awesome CRamze! good for you!
