Science and Studies
For over ten years, research has been conducted on the effects of Almased® on weight, health and overall well-being. Studies on Almased® and its effects can be found by clicking on the links below.
In a prospective 32-week open-label field study with 51 men and women, subjects ingesting only 1 serving (50 g) of Almased daily experienced significant weight reduction (5.5-8.14 lbs) as well as a supported healthy fasting blood sugar and insulin level after 26 weeks. Read more
In a 6-month randomized controlled study of 83 pre-obese and obese subjects (averaging 198 lbs and 31.5 BMI), subjects who followed an Almased supported diet, replacing their meals twice daily for 6 weeks and then once daily for 18 weeks, showed a greater reduction in body weight and fat mass with or without exercise, compared to subjects who followed a standard low-calorie and moderate-fat intake diet. No loss of muscle mass was reported in all subjects. Read More
In a 12-month interventional study of 72 overweight and obese pre- and postmenopausal women, all subjects experienced significant weight loss after using 50g of Almased twice daily as a meal replacement for 6 weeks, followed by once daily for 18 weeks. Specifically, subjects experienced a reduction in waist and hip circumferences as well as BMI and fat mass. Both groups of pre- and postmenopausal women also experienced balanced levels of total cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol whereas postmenopausal women experienced supported blood pressure, triglyceride, HDL-cholesterol and glucose levels. What Scientists say about Almased®
All core claims have been scientifically confirmed:
• Almased® promotes effective weight loss as well as a healthy blood pressure and insulin level while stimulating the fatburning metabolism.
• It is recommended to use Almased® for a minimum period of six weeks.
• Even a dosage of 50 g once per day supports the metabolic biomarker values.
• In a weight loss program, Almased® makes an excellent substitute for a meal with 50 g of Almased® once or twice per day.
These are the Effects of Almased®: Ten Statements by nine German Scientists
This is what these scientists say unanimously: How Almased® supports effective weight loss, healthy blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar levels.
A Natural Product
Almased® contains pure soy protein, yogurt and raw honey. A special processing method preserves the essential amino acids in Almased®.
Supported Leptin Level
Obesity is associated with a severely increased leptin level, which in turn is linked to insulin resistance and considered a cause of metabolic disorders, such as diabetes mellitus. Almased® supports a healthy leptin level, thus influencing risk factors favorably.
Accelerated Fat Reduction
Almased® supports healthy insulin levels while stimulating fat reduction and inhibiting fat storage.
Long-lasting Feeling of Satiety
The tissue hormone ghrelin, which is produced by stomach cells, is an indicator of the sensation of satiety. Almased® lowers the ghrelin level, thereby reducing appetite sustainably.
No Loss of Muscle Mass
In a weight loss program, Almased® helps to exclusively burn body fat without reducing muscle mass.
Less Abdominal Fat
Almased® has a positive effect on the body fat vs. muscle mass ratio. If combined with physical activity, it can significantly reduce fat deposits in the abdomen and hip area.
Long-lasting Effect
Weight loss achieved with Almased® is helpful in changing nutritional behavior and keeps the weight off long-term.
Supported Blood Levels for People with Diabetes
50 g of Almased® per day support healthy blood levels (e.g. blood sugar, HbA1c value).
Supported Cholesterol Levels
A weight loss program using Almased® supports healthy cholesterol and triglyceride levels.
Supported Blood Pressure
A weight loss program using Almased® supports a healthy blood pressure.
